I have been an independent live sound engineer for the past 23 years. Throughout college and after, I maintained a large catalog of entertainment acts that contracted my mixing services. I have engineered local, national, and international talents at live concerts and for television performances all over the world.
In recent years, I have stayed away from consistent touring and instead traded my "traveling sound engineer life" mixing international acts across the world for mixing great artists locally such as “The Fabulous Armadillos!” I do fly out and mix special engagements and fill-in gigs frequently.
I toured consistently as the front-of- house sound engineer for Jonny Lang during his "early years"! During that time he became an internationally recognized musician and performer. We toured extensively and world-wide, including: North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. We were incredibly lucky to do tours with groups such as; Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Sting, BB King, Blues Traveler, Van Halen, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Keb Mo, and countless others.
As a 20+ year veteran sound engineer, I have been fortunate to get my hands on many pieces of the professional gear that is out in the world and watch, learn from, and befriend many talented sound engineers and PA system technicians and designers. I am still using their techniques and tricks everyday in Central Minnesota.
Some of my clients have appeared on live radio and television shows including: Garrison Keillor, Minnesota Public Radio, Kare 11, ABC Morning Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Regis & Kelly, and many other foreign shows the names of which I can't remember. I have also done in-studio concerts for VH1, MTV, Disney, CBC, Austin City Limits, Much Music Canada, MTV Europe, and the BBC.
I consider myself very lucky and I am extremely appreciative of my corporate support from so many pro audio companies. Especially Rapco Professional, Shure Bros, TeleFunken USA, McCalley Pro Audio, and Crane Song ltd. Without them, I would not be able to get the same audio impact and results out of my mixing board and speakers.
